The peace and tranquillity of cottage country at the height of summer, especially without Internet or cell phone access, is food for the soul.
This 13-second ultra-long exposure photo was taken at the end of July, looking out over Lac-des- Iles (Island Lake) in Quebec. The lake is deep within one of the many rural areas in the province and boasts a night sky dark enough to get some pretty decent pictures of the Milky Way.
Located 100 km as the crows fly from Ottawa, Ontario, Lac-des-Iles is just north of Wabassee, Quebec. For those looking to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the Internet, you’ll find an area where the connection to the Web is pleasantly spotty.
