On a sunny Sunday, February 28, 2010, in downtown Vancouver, Canada’s men’s hockey team triumphed over their historic arch-rivals in Olympic hockey, the US, to claim the gold medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics. The nail-biting overtime gold medal win was Canada’s eighth in the Olympics Men’s Hockey tournament surpassing the record previously held by Canada’s other hockey arch-rival the powerhouse team from Russia.
Vancouver, needless to day, erupted in an explosion of pride never seen before or after. It was a magical moment and the celebrations continued late into the night.
